How long should we arrive before the ferry departure time?

I cycled L2P before and had no problem getting through passport control and customs checks and across the channel on the ferry, but I was wondering if extra time is now needed due to Brexit? We arrived about 45 minutes before the ferry departed before and had plenty of time. How much longer would anyone recommend arriving before the ferry departs now? Is 1 hour enough or more than that?

Sorry, I should probably mention we will be taking the ferry from Newhaven to Dieppe this time, although I’m not sure if that would make any difference.

I recently contacted DFDS about this and they recommended arriving at the port between 60 to 90 minutes before departure
