2 day cycle routes
Two days & one night London to Paris bike ride routesLondon to Paris by bike in 2 days is a tough challenge and one which will really put your fitness to the test. This isn’t a ride for beginners and you will need to have trained hard well in advance of your trip, but this is a challenge that is both achievable and exciting.
With the longest part of the ride being in France, it is advisable to get yourself down to the coast and over in a ferry on the first day allowing you the chance to arrive in Paris in good time the second day. All of the following routes reflect this.
One thing to be careful of is the ferry times. Different routes have varying timetables. To note, it is recommended by ferry companies that you arrive 1 hour before the planned departure time.
Finally, arriving in Paris after a long cycle ride like this is a big deal, so make sure you give yourselves time to celebrate. Leaving early on the 2nd day will be necessary to give you the greatest change of arriving early enough to properly take in what you’ve achieved.
Note: The 24-hour cycle routes are very similar to the 2-day routes. The key difference is that with the 2 days routes you get to break up your journey for a few hours of sleep between each leg. The Portsmouth/Le Havre route however is only really possible as a 2-day route as the 8 hour overnight ferry ride gives you ample time to sleep. These 2-day options are ideal for those who like the idea of completing a sportive style challenge, but prefer to get a few hours sleep along the way instead of completing the full route in one go.
