Organising a company charity ride

A handful of us are in the process of setting up a company charity ride and are looking for advice on funding and costs. Specifically we’re looking for advice around likely costs per person (for a three day trip), whether costs are normally taken from the sponsorship money raised, whether nominated charities ever provide any basic funding themselves to get the project off the ground, etc Any advice would be hugely appreciated.
