GuestI’m using the SIS go energy drinks and the Nuun hydrations tablets for training right now and I think are both pretty decent, but its a hassle having to make separate drinks. I did try mixing them together but it tasted rubbish and my stomach didn’t like it. Seen the other options recommended on here and been on the usual cycling shop sites, any recommendations from personal experience here? The High5 one says it’s an energy drink with electrolytes in one. Is that a good thing or better to keep separate?

GuestGood question James. I tried all sorts of drinks and gels when I cycled L2P back in 2019. Personally I don’t get on with the gels, although friends of mine swear by them. I love that you made cocktails out of different drinks, although I can imagine it didn’t taste great.
As for a recommendation, I really like the high5 energy drink powder as it covers both energy and electrolytes so no separate drinks. I buy this all the time and I’m using it now to train to do the ride again this year. They’ve got a few flavours but orange or berry are my go to.
Does anyone here have any suggestions on what the best energy bars are? I’ve tried the high 5 bars, as got a free sample, but which others are worth trying?
